Headteacher, Trevelyan Middle School

Welcome to Trevelyan Middle School

Trevelyan Middle School is a welcoming, inclusive learning community where pupils aged 9–13 are supported to grow academically, socially and personally during these important middle years. Guided by our ethos to inspire, challenge and grow, we are proud of a school that combines high expectations with care, curiosity and a strong sense of belonging.

At Trevelyan, people are at the heart of everything we do. We believe pupils thrive when they feel safe, known and valued, and when learning is ambitious, engaging and connected to the real world. Our curriculum is designed to nurture resilience, independence and social responsibility, while encouraging pupils to think critically and develop confidence in who they are and what they can achieve.

I am proud to be joining Trevelyan as Headteacher and see my role as building thoughtfully on the school’s many strengths. Trevelyan has a distinctive character and strong foundations, and my priority is to listen, learn and work closely with pupils, staff and families to ensure we continue to grow without losing what makes the school special. Any change will be carefully considered, purposeful and always rooted in the best interests of our pupils.

As part of the Pioneer Educational Trust, Trevelyan benefits from a collaborative culture, shared values and a strong commitment to inclusion and ethical leadership. We believe every child should be supported, celebrated and enabled to flourish.

Partnership with parents and carers is central to our success. I value open, honest communication and look forward to working closely with families to build trust and ensure every pupil feels supported to thrive, both in and beyond the classroom.

Trevelyan Middle School is a place where ambition is nurtured, individuality is respected and young people are encouraged to take education further. I look forward to the journey ahead and to being part of this special community.
