Pupils with Special Needs
By working closely with a wide range of outside agencies and organisations the school provides extensive support to meet the diverse needs of pupils.
Ofsted 2008
Our teachers are trained to identify when a child might benefit from additional support. If a pupil is considered to be in need of such support, their parents will be informed and advised if external help is to be requested.
Similar procedures are used to identify more able pupils.
The Special Educational Needs register of all pupils with special educational needs is maintained by the Head of Additional Needs, Mrs Biddulph. Each child on the register has an Individual Education Plan written especially for them.
All our staff members who teach children on the register will have copies of their plans so that they can target appropriate support for that pupil.
We monitor the progress of children carefully and their plans is updated whenever necessary.
