Smartboards

Technology is used imaginatively and well and there are planned opportunities to develop literacy and numeracy. Ofsted 2011

Our smartboards are one of our most useful classroom resources (and also one of the most expensive!). They let us project almost anything that you can see on a computer display onto a large white surface — educational programs, pictures, diagrams, web pages…

But more than that, they let us use special 'pens' to draw or write text on top of the display, save parts of it to use later, or drag things around the board, much as you would with a mouse on a computer screen.

As well as permanent screens in our dedicated ICT rooms, we are starting to equip other departmental rooms — such as History, Maths and English — with these versatile pieces of equipment. We are grateful to the PTA for contributing funds towards this.
