Parents

The school works well with a range of external agencies such as health and social services to promote the safety, health and welfare of all pupils. Ofsted 2011

We actively welcome and encourage the support of parents. You are welcome to contact us or arrange to come in and see us whenever you want.

We keep you informed:

  • by writing to you if there is something good - or bad - which we think you should know
  • by providing regular reports on your children's progress
  • by telling you each year or term about the courses your children will be studying
  • by arranging meetings to tell you about important stages in your children's education, and about national education matters
  • by sending you regular newsletters to keep you up-to-date on what's going on in the school

You can ask questions and make comments in your children's handbooks; and at various forums we arrange, we encourage you to tell us what we've got right, and where we could do better.

As well as supporting the PTA, there are many opportunities for parents to be involved in their children's schooling...

  • in the library
  • listening to children read
  • working with our Special Needs team
  • helping to organise a club or activity
  • going as an adult helper on a school trip
  • being a Parent Friend, supporting parents new to the school or who need help with a particular concern
