Attainment Levels
Attainment Levels describe exactly what a student working at that level will be achieving.
- Our teachers assess the level our students work at in each subject on a regular basis. The attainment levels reached are sent home in progress reports.
- At the end of each Key Stage, students are assessed formally in Standard Attainment Tests (SATs).
Attainment Levels for all subjects range between 1 and 7, with 1 being the lowest. The levels are subdivided, with "c" being the lowest achievement in a level, and "a" the top.
- A pupil working at Level 4b is in the middle of that level, above Level 4c, and working up to Level 4a.
- A student working at Level 5a may progress up to Level 6c.
- High-performing students may be awarded a Level 8 (Exceptional Performance).
