School Dress Code – Information for Parents & Carers

Trevelyan School prides itself on its high standards of pupil appearance. The uniform gives our pupils a strong sense of belonging and an identity within the community.

Below is the complete list of our official uniform requirements, which must be adhered to:

Uniform and PE Kit Uniform items

  • Black trousers (no jeans) Or bespoke tartan skirt from Goyals OR black tailored shorts. 
  • White shirt with school crest and school tie OR White revere collared blouse with school crest. 
  • Grey or black socks 
  • Sturdy black flat shoes (not trainers) 

Sports Kit 

  • Black shorts OR Black skort (with initials).
  • Black polo shirt with Trevelyan logo (with initials)
  • Black baselayer leggings / long sleeved baselayer tops (optional but recommended in cold weather)
  • Trainers (not plimsolls or pumps)
  • Red football socks
  • Shin pads
  • Football boots
  • Gum shield (years 7 & 8 only)
  • Red & White rugby shirt
  • Black TMS hoddie (with initials) 

 

Black & red waterproof jackets are also available from Goyals with pupils’ individual initials added.

It is vitally important that all uniform and sports kit items are clearly named. This is the only way we can ensure lost items find their way back to the rightful owner!

Please note the following items are not permitted:

Boots, trainers (except during sporting activities), jeans, nail varnish, false nails, make-up, jewellery or large hair accessories. Small stud earrings (one pair only) are allowed but must be removed for PE. Hair should not be coloured, no extensions or shaved patterns. Boys’ hair should not be cut below a grade 2. Shoulder length hair or longer should be tied back at all times. Girls wearing headscarves for religious reasons should ensure that scarves are black or white.
